Located on the shores of Okanagan Lake on 60 wooded acres, the all non-smoking Outback comprises 38 two- and three-bedroom vacation homes. Homes feature gourmet kitchens, washers and dryers, plasma TVs, Wi-Fi, deep soaking tubs, furnished decks and barbeque grills. Take the five-story glass elevator to the lakefront, and head through the granite tunnel to the picnic and swimming area with a beach and dock. The resort has two outdoor pools; one is an infinity pool nestled in the forest on the water's edge. A hot tub overlooks the lake. The resort also has an outdoor tennis court, a fitness room and free parking. Pets are allowed for a fee. The lakefront Outback Resort is next to Ellison Provincial Park and its nearly 500 acres of forests, headlands and sheltered coves. Activities include canoeing, fishing, cycling, climbing and hiking. Skiing and snowboarding at Silver Star Mountain Resort is 26 miles (about one hour) northeast. Downtown Vernon is 11 miles northeast, Kelowna is 38 miles south and Kelowna International Airport is 30 miles south.
