A magnificent example of Medieval architecture, the hall hosts a huge open fireplace adorned with stone carvings, coats of arms and a unique carved 11th Century overmantle. No medieval castle would be complete without mysterious stories of romance, conflict and betrayal; and Comlongon Castle is no exception. Lady Marion Carruthers was believed to have leaped to her death from the Castle's watch tower in 1570 and ever since an apparition of a young lady was often seen in and around the castle usually crying. Over the years there have been many sightings and the hotel staff is always interested to hear about recent encounters.
