Willington Hall Hotel

Willington Hall was built in 1829 once a private house of the Tomkinson family and was converted into this wonderful hotel in 1977. The architect, George Latham, practiced a style he called 'Queen Elizabethan' and the period features and country house charm have been preserved to this day. In 1999 the Begbie family, hotel proprietors for three generations, took over the hotel and have lovingly restored the house and gardens There are 17 acres of formal gardens and parkland surrounding the hotel, which provide wonderful views across the Cheshire countryside. Guests are welcome to explore these grounds and enjoy the rolling lawns, York stone terraces, follies and kitchen gardens. The Gainsborough Restaurant provides full a la carte and table d'hotel menus for both residents and non-residents daily. The head chef prepares a fusion of modern British cuisine with fresh local produce wherever possible, much of which is grown in the commercial greenhouse within the grounds. These delightful dishes are complimented by the varied selection of wine from the extensive wine list.
